This is awesome!! In my TE 401 - Science class, we discussed this type of approach in depth. I think it is extremely valuable and students can then take the knowledge they know and see a purpose for it. We talk in all my classes about the best way to motivate students to learn is to connect with them on a personal level and make learning meaningful. This type of approach really makes that happen!
